Rocky Point VRBO and Airbnb vs Booking Direct: Same House, Different Price
Last reviewed
Most Rocky Point vacation rentals are listed on Airbnb, VRBO, or both. Many of the same homes can also be booked directly with the owner. Booking direct usually costs less because the platform's guest service fee does not apply. Here is a side-by-side comparison using our own house, Cholla Bay Vista.
Find Our House on Airbnb
Cholla Bay Vista is listed on Airbnb, where it is rated 4.92 out of 5 from 36 reviews and holds the Guest Favorite badge. You can read every review there before booking direct.

- More flexibility on things like early check-in, extra pets, or vehicles
- A returning guest discount

How we protect direct guests: a signed rental agreement, payment by credit card through Stripe (with your card issuer's protection), a written cancellation policy, and an owner with a 100% response rate.
Check Any Rocky Point Listing with These Tips
- Confirm the map pin. "Rocky Point" listings can be in Cholla Bay, Sandy Beach, Las Conchas, or downtown, which are 10 to 20 minutes apart.
- Read reviews from the last 6 months. Older reviews may not reflect the current condition.
- Look at the total at checkout, not the nightly rate.
- Check beds, not just bedrooms. "Sleeps 10" means little without the bed list.
- Ask about A/C in every bedroom, especially in summer.
